Published twice a year, Nez explores the world around us via our sense of smell. It provides an insight into the vital role that olfactory sensations play in our lives. This novel approach encompasses art, literature, science, history, food, and perfume. While a large proportion of each issue is obviously given over to fragrance and perfumery, the relationship between scent and taste is inescapably part of the magazine as well.

This issue, The Color of Scents explores how colors are used to describe smells, and other ways that color manifests in the perfume industry-- thankfully doing so without falling into tired tropes that strain the definition of synesthesia.

A standout section interviews different types of dancers, about the scent landscape of their creative practice.  There are also articles about how color is used to market scents, and also about how color, in this case that of ones' skin and hair, continues to be a barrier to progress within much of the perfume industry.

The Odorama section, which celebrates a specific scent category in every issue is devoted to Sandalwoods and Lentisk, two woody, resinous ingredients with a long history in perfumery as well as other practical applications as well as a section on the role of scents in pharmaceuticals.   .

As always, There are many reviews of recently released (or re-released) perfumes and all things scented. This issue also features a brief roundup of very tempting bubble baths.

Paperback. Handsomely designed with full color throughout.
